This research aimed to conduct an in-depth investigation into the educational functions of public oversight (amr-be-ma'ruf and nahi-an-al-munkar) from the perspective of Nahj al-Balagha. The present study seeks to answer the following key questions: 1. What is the perspective of Nahj al-Balagha on public oversight? 2. What are the educational functions of public oversight? 3. What are the obstacles to the successful implementation of public oversight? The results of the research indicate that public oversight in Nahj al-Balagha is more than an individual duty; it is a continuous jihad and a heartfelt action rooted in faith and ethics. The educational functions of public oversight can be divided into two main categories: material and spiritual. In the material realm, this duty helps prevent crime, improve the living environment, and increase security and peace. At the spiritual level, it leads to the strengthening of faith, self-education, and personal character development. Moreover, public oversight plays a significant role in strengthening the common good and promoting social justice. However, the successful implementation of public oversight faces challenges such as lack of awareness, inappropriate methods, resistance from the audience, economic problems, and inefficiencies in social structures. To overcome these obstacles, suggestions such as promoting a culture of criticism, teaching communication skills, strengthening support structures, and inter-sectoral cooperation have been presented. Ultimately, this research shows that public oversight is a powerful tool for reforming society and improving people's lives.
